INTRODUCTION TO TEN-CARD REGRETS

Ten-Card Regrets is a poker game played with two hands, much like Pai Gow Poker and Chinese Poker. These instructions assume players are familiar with the basics of poker played with a single hand, the rules of which can be found here. Players may also want to reference Poker Hand Rankings and Poker Betting Variations pages for more information on basic poker.

Ten-Card Regrets is a split pot game that is limited to 5 players at the maximum. Rather than build a single 5-card hand, players will build two 5-card hands: one low hand (left) and one high hand (right).

THE PLAY

The game starts with players placing an ante. An ante is a forced bet players must make in certain poker games to enter it as an active player and be dealt cards.

The Deal & Betting

After the antes have been placed, each player is dealt 2 cards. Players must decide then if the cards will be in the right or left hand or one in each. After all players are ready, they reveal their cards. This is followed by a betting round. Betting begins with the player to the left of the dealer.

Next, the dealer deals two more cards to each player. Once again, players assign them to either their left hand (low hand) or their right hand (high hand). Another round of betting ensues after the players finish. sòng bạc

Repeat alternating between dealing and betting until players have two full 5-card hands. Note, once a card is assigned to a hand you cannot move it to the other hand. Hands can have no more or no less than 5 cards after the 5 rounds of dealing and betting.

Showdown

Once players have finished crafting their hands and placing bets, the showdown commences. The players with the highest and lowest hands split the pot evenly. However, it is important to note that the left hand cannot win high and the right hand cannot win low. Left hands and right hands are compared separtely.

VARIATION

Seven-card Regrets is a common and simple variation of 10-card regrets. The game follows the same mechainsm, however; players are dealt 7 cards for each hand. Then, they must discard two cards from each hand. The pot is split between highest and lowest hands.
