INTRODUCTION OF CATEGO

Catego is a simple dice game created by Reiner Knizia in 1990.  Reiner, an award winning game designer from Germany, has over thirty published board games published.

Catego challenges players to claim spots on the scorecard withthe highest rolled number possible.  Doing so will earn that player points equal to the spot’s position.

THE PLAY

To decide who gets to go first, each player should roll both dice.  The player with the highest total rolled goes first.

In order to play Catego, you will need a scorecard.  One can be printed out or simply sketched on a scrap of paper.  Each player will have their own row of scoreboxes on the scorecard.

During the game, players are trying to claim as many points on the scorecard as possible.  This is done by rolling the dice and assigning the total to a scorebox in their row.  Each box is worth a set amount of points.  The player with the highest total given to that score earns the points.

Player 1 begins the game by rolling both dice.  Whatever total is rolled must be assigned to a scorebox on the card.  Player 1 may choose any available box in their row to assign the points.  Once they have done so, their turn is over, and the dice are passed to the next player.

Player 2 now takes their turn.  They roll both dice and choose an empty scorebox in their row to assign the total.  The total rolled must be assigned each round.  A player is unable to pass.

Play like this continues for eleven rounds.  At the end of the eleventh round, the scorecard will be filled.

It is possible to play the game with 3 or 4 players as well.  In a four player game, form teams of two in order to add another twist to the game.  Each player is still assigned their own row, but now the team total is used to decide who earns the points.

WINNING

Once all eleven rounds have been completed, it is time to tally up the score.  Go through each point level and circle the scorebox with the highest total.  If both players have the same total in both of their scoreboxes, neither player earns points.  Then, total up each players’ points earned.  The player with the highest total wins the game. Nhà cái lừa đảo
